Sneak Preview!

For my course we have to do a photo shoot for a magazine, which we started to do the other day. I took some behind the scenes snaps of the action which I decided to share with you all. We had so much fun, despite the rain! The quality isn't so great because I was snapping away on my Blackberry, so I appologise for that. Anyways, enjoy!

I Just Got Glitter in my Eye

This week my staple piece of clothing are my trophy sequin shorts. I absolutely love them, but often struggle to put an outfit together with them. The outfits I created are a bit out there, but what is fashion if it's not for taking risks?

The shorts:
(Shorts: Topshop)

First outfit is simple and for the colder weather. There are so many things you can add to this outfit such as boots or a scarf, but I just went for the basic look:
(Denim jacket, Urban Outfitters. Tights, Dorothy Perkins)

Second outfit I think I went a bit mad! I decided to go with denim on denim, which I have never done before but I think it works well. You definatly need to have some confidence before going out in this:
(Denim shirt, Topshop. Denim bodice, Topshop. Tights, Dorothy Perkins. Shoes, Dorothy Perkins. Socks, Next)

Third outfit is back to basics with just a simple grey woolen jumper over the sequin shorts. It's simple, cosy and creates a contrast in textures:
(Jumper, Dorothy Perkins)

This forth look is again a bit more daring. I really liked the denim shirt with the shorts so I added that with a cropped jumper. The jumper gives the outfit a bit more colour and texture:
(Cropped jumper, Topshop)

This last look could be used for going out as it has a night time feel about it. It's edgy and mixes patterns in a fashionable way:
(Tights, Dorothy Perkins. Top, Topshop)

This week I added a few accesories and shoes that could be added to these outfits:
(Wedges, Dorothy Perkins. Boots, River Island. Heels, Dorothy Perkins)
(Black bag, ASOS. Chalk bag, Guess)
(Strawberry necklace, Topshop. Guitar necklace, Topshop. Pearl necklace, H&M)

When I have the money

I went on polyvore today to create a few looks with these amazing Kurt Geiger boots. They are the dream this week and I would love to own them, but being a student it's hard to put away the money for things I want. So for now, this is just for fun, or for when I can actually afford them.

"A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous"

We all have bad clothes days or days when we feel like we have nothing to wear. I am forever spending my days deciding what to wear and feeling that nothing goes with anything so I have decided to set myself a challenge. I have picked out clothes from my wardrobe that I consider to be timeless and that I believe will be in my life for a long time. I am going to see just how many outfits I can get out of them and what works and what doesn't.

Starting with my camel mac coat:
First look I went for was relaxed:
(Coat, Topshop. Shirt, New Look. Belt, Topshop.)
Second look is more casual with mixed textures:
(T-shirt, Topshop. Shorts, vintage. Cardigan, Topshop.)
Third look is more classic with a belt change:
(Belt, Topshop. Umbrella, Next.)
Fourth look is a simple day time look with a contrast belt:
(Belt, Next. Jeans, Kate Moss for Topshop. Shoes, River Island.)
Last look is a night look:
(Dress, Urban Outfitters. Shoes, Kurt Geiger.)
Alexa Chung wears this mac with class, and she was my inspiration during the week.

Lastly I would like to thank my photographer this week, Ryan Playfair:
In conclusion, the mac will pretty much go with anything, except maybe maxi dresses but they will be coming later. Quote at the top by Coco Chanel.
